Secular Trust
A secular trust (also known as a reverse rabbi trust) is an irrevocable trust,
which is similar to the Rabbi Trust intended to compensate an employee later
for services rendered presently.  The purpose of this trust is to provide
protection to an employee for deferred compensation that would otherwise be
unprotected from the employer's creditors.   Unlike qualified plans, in this case
the employee's benefits are vested, which means that the employee is entitled to
the funds is they leave the employer.  Another way of saying that is that the
employee is not locked in as a slave for "x" number of years before entitlement.
